Southern Living houses showcase Shaw floors
Shaw floors were selected for both 2009Southern LivingIdea Houses this summer. One home, featured in the Reynolds Signature Community of Achasta in Dahlonega, Ga., uses Shaw carpet, hardwood and tile & stone, along with Shaw hardwood on the walls of the retreat area. The 2009Southern LivingIdea House on Mustang Island in Texas’s Cinnamon Shore community includes Shaw’s eco-friendly Anso nylon carpet.
The Dahlonega home’s interior design was completed by Mallory Mathison, Inc. Mathison selected Shaw’s Fremont solid hand-scraped hardwood flooring in a deep chocolate tone named Legacy, an Anso nylon room-size area rug from the Savvy Spaces collection and several of the company’s Glass Expressions tiles. The home also features Shaw’s Loft tile in the family room and children’s bath, and Shaw’s Anderson Hardwood Virginia Vintage handscraped planks for the flooring and walls of the loft retreat.
“Shaw participates in projects like theSouthern Livingideas houses in order to reach our targeted consumer in an inspirational and unique setting,” said Reggie Newton, Shaw’s vp marketing. “Thousands of consumers tour theSouthern Livingshow homes for ideas and product recommendations, and we receive a very large volume of calls about the products featured in the homes. The idea houses allow Shaw to deliver educated, ready-to-purchase consumers to Shaw retailers.”
The 2009Southern LivingIdea House in Dahlonega, Ga., is open to the public for tours throughout December. Tickets are $5 at the door and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales benefit the local United Way of Dahlonega/Lumpkin County.
The 2009Southern LivingIdea House on Texas’s Mustang Island is open to the public until Sept. 27, and tickets are $5 at the door. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Port Aransas Education Foundation.
