The Brazilian Association of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers – ANFACER, established in 1984 - is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

According to Edson Gaidzinski Jr., president of the Board of Trustees – ANFACER, 2009 “represents a dynamic and important industry for the Brazilian economy, with transactions of more than R$ 7 billion yearly and creating roughly 25,000 direct jobs and more than 250,000 indirect positions throughout its chain of production. It has had numerous achievements over the years.”

Among ANFACER’s key roles, Gaidzinski Jr. noted, is the association’s “active performance defining sector strategies, coordinating trade promotion programs, sector information systems and business intelligence, implementing policies and quality sector programs and regulations, trade protection, competitiveness and a strong role in dealing with tax issues.”

Further, “The partnership with APEX - Brasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) established in 2000 was the springboard for promoting exports, participating in international events and strengthening the national product brand, all of which solidified Brazilian ceramic sector's position as a major player in the world market,” Gaidzinski Jr. added.
