Estes Construction of Davenport, Iowa, recently replaced 18,000 sq. ft. of carpeting in its office using INSTALL-certified installers. According to the construction firm, the project became a "test case" to see whether it made sense to use INSTALL approved installers on future projects.
The project, which required installers to replace the flooring during business hours with little to no interruption to office staff, was an "outstanding" success, according to Estes Construction. The installation was completed two days ahead of schedule, Estes' staff was not disrupted and "the quality was exceptional and the three INSTALL certified installers were the utmost professionals," the company noted.
Because of the results, Estes staff said it will now require INSTALL certified installers on all future projects, whether working as a general contractor or construction manager. L&L Floor Covering of Rock Island, Ill., was the contractor on the "test case" project. The three installers were Marty Stratton, Robert Franks, and Jesse Radcliff.
