Orchid Ceramics full line of porcelain products, sold under the Orchid Porcelain brand, was recently tested and certified as true porcelain tile by the Porcelain Tile Certification Agency (PTCA). The PTCA is a joint effort by the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA) and the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) to certify porcelain tile and bring porcelain education to the market.

“Orchid Porcelain features a full complement of trims such as cove base and bullnose with merchandising support for architects and designers. Now, the products [carry] the peace of mind brought with the PTCA certification," said Kurt Graves, Orchid's president.

Orchid submitted its porcelain tile to the PTCA for independent third party testing. True porcelain tiles are rated with a water absorption of 0.5% or less as measured by the ASTM C373 test method.
