Chip Wade, an Atlanta-based carpenter and home remodeling contractor featured on HGTV's Designed to Sell, has been named Mohawk Industries' newest celebrity spokesman. On the show, which he joined last year, Wade heads a team that is responsible for turning around three-room makeovers in just a few days.
Wade said he was drawn to Mohawk for its approach to sustainability. “I’ve been especially impressed with Mohawk’s green efforts, like SmartStrand carpet," he said. "It was important to me that I worked with a company that’s truly dedicated to being environmentally responsible.”
David Duncan, vp marketing for Mohawk, said Wade was a natural fit with the company. “Chip combines real-world experience with extraordinary communications and craftsmanship,” he noted.
He added that Wade “will help Mohawk demonstrate the true value of our products so consumers see all the advantages for quality, beauty and environmental responsibility that Mohawk offers. We think this will help consumers visit our retailer showrooms better prepared to make buying decisions,” he said.
A presentation from Wade on Mohawk's SmartStrand carpet is available on Mohawk's website at http://mohawkflooring.com/chip-wade/chip-wade-on-smartstrand-carpet.aspx. Plans call for Wade to appear in other presentations on the website as well as at upcoming events, Mohawk said.
