The American Society of Interior
Designers and the U.S. Green Building Council said they will launch Regreen, a
series of guidelines for ‘green’ residential remodeling, later this month.
Designed for use by residential designers, construction professionals and
homeowners, Regreen includes best practices, learning programs and print and
electronic resources.
“Regreen
is an important collaboration between both of our organizations,” said Rick
Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council.
“Healthy living is on the minds of many Americans and by providing the tools
and resources they need to reach their sustainability goals, we’ll be
furthering our collective missions of education and transforming the built
environment.”
Michael
Alin, executive director of the ASID, called these guidelines “a first for the
industry.” “We are developing curriculum for learning programs and designing a
comprehensive and user-friendly website to assist in green residential
remodeling,” he added.
