MAPEI gets bigger in Texas; Set to add new plant in N.J.
Officials from MAPEI break ground in preparation for the expansion of the company’s 18-year-old Garland, Texas, plant. When the addition is in place, the facility will double in size, adding 79,000 sq. ft. of space for warehousing, distribution, and MAPEI Technical Institute training courses. The expansion is set to be completed by July 2008.
In a related announcement, MAPEI said it has received approval on a site plan for a Millville, N.J., property the company is looking to develop. MAPEI noted that it “expects to close on the purchase of the land and begin building a 115,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility by early 2008.” The finished plant would “quintiple” the company’s production capacity in the Northeast, according to MAPEI. Additionally, the site would be a regional distribution center for the company’s wood, resilient and carpet adhesives lines.
