Orcon Products’ “great respect in the floor covering industry” has prompted concrete specialist Dayton Superior to name the Union City, Calif., company its exclusive representative. The move comes on the heels of Dayton’s decision to enter the floor covering distribution channel with its line of underlayments and subfloor prep products.

Dayton’s national program manager for flooring products, Robert Fastow noted that his company’s products will be a welcome addition to the flooring industry.  He added that it is among the few domestic manufacturers capable of providing a full line of affordable self-leveling underlayments, patches and other subfloor prep products. “We’ve spent the last couple of years focusing on our products and making sure they are a perfect fit for both floor covering installers and distributors,” he said.

“Orcon’s sales organization has a great deal of respect in the floor covering industry,” continued Fastow. “Their relationships, knowledge and experience should enable Dayton Superior to expand our distribution network within the floor covering industry, and make our products more readily accessible to our target customer, the floor covering installer.”

According to Bob Rennie, sales manager/North America for Orcon, “the addition of the Dayton Superior line of underlayments fits in with our overall company strategy of adding and selling complimentary flooring products.” He added that his company was “very impressed with the quality of the Dayton Superior personnel, their products, and their ability to service our customers.
