Port Charlotte, Fla., resident Michelle Albert recently got a helping hand from Pergo in remodeling her home, which was devastated by Hurricane Charley in 2004. As the winner of the laminate flooring maker's Create Your Own Dream Space promotion, Albert received a $5,000 gift certificate from Pergo for home furnishings.
With prize winnings in hand, Albert entered local furniture retailer Haverty's and picked out new furnishings for her home. Albert entered Pergo's contest in 2005, when she bought Pergo flooring for her and her two children's bedrooms at ProSource of Fort Myers. John Harness, owner of the specialty retail store, said he enrolled in the Create Your Own Dream Space promotion largely because of his "good experiences and strong relationship" with Pergo..
"We support the people and companies who support us," he said. "And we make a good profit from selling Pergo."
During reconstruction of their home, Albert and her children lived in a cramped trailer for a year. By winning the Pergo contest, Albert says she's hopeful for bright skies ahead. "It has been a rough couple of years for us," Albert said. "But now our luck has changed so much, my daughter Anna thinks that we're going to win everything, all the time!"
