The president and CEO of Mannington Mills, Tom Davis, said he expects there will be a greater response this year than last year when the company launched the award program. "In our first year, we received more than 450 nominations which contained stories about women who have demonstrated great strength, passion and courage to help others," said Davis. "These women are an inspiration to us all, and truly make our world a better place on which to stand."
Winners will be selected by a panel of distinguished women including the former governor of New Jersey, Christine Todd Whitman; Olympic gold medal figure skater Dorothy Hamill; and TV personality Leeza Gibbons. The results will be announced in October and the winners will be honored at a ceremony in Philadelphia's National Liberty Museum slated for Nov. 16.
