The fifth annual George Buckhardt Memorial Golf Outing will be hosted by George's Flooring Supplies, now part of Carpet Cushions and Supplies, at Colonial Oaks Golf Course in Fort Wayne, Ind. It is held in memory of the founder of the company, George Buckhardt, a third generation flooring installer who began his supply business as a way to assist other installers. He started by presenting free seminars and lobbied other storeowners to increase the amount paid for flooring installation.

Money raised at the event assists with the payment of medical expenses for installers who have fallen on difficult times. The recipient of the 2004 outing will be Jim Rank and his family. In July, Jim was involved in a serious motorcycle accident while competing in a motocross competition in Topeka, KS. He is a CFI Master Installer, a member of the CFI Regional Certification Team and also a trainer for Orcon.
