With Milliken’s Olympic carpet as a backdrop, Paul Hamm, America’s first-ever gold medal winner in the men’s all-around competition, completes his routine.

Milliken Carpet made the 2,500 square yards of carpet seen in Galatsi Olympic Hall. It was designed, manufactured, packaged, and shipped to the time-strapped venue in 10 days, according to Milliken.

Milliken, one of the crafters of the "Made in America" symbol, produced the blue and green design, featuring Olympic rings and the legend "Athens 2004 - Welcome Home." Milliken used its software-driven Millitron equipment to create the 65-foot carpet's banners. Specialists laid out the broadloom at its LaGrange, Ga., plant to fit the massive design together.
