Gammapar, a hardwood flooring manufacturer based in Forest, Va., has announced that it will acquire PermaGrain Products Inc., one of its top competitors in the manufacture of acrylic impregnated wood flooring.

Following PermaGrain's filing for bankruptcy last December, Gammapar executives have moved swiftly to make arrangements for the immediate acquisition of PermaGrain.

"Over the years, PermaGrain has developed a solid reputation as being a quality company with a high service standard," remarked Gammapar's CEO, Barry Brubaker. "We will build on that reputation as we develop and implement some exciting plans for revising and expanding the PermaGrain product line in the coming months," he said.

The companies will continue to operate as separate entities, and Gammapar intends to retain the sales and production team that was in place when PermaGrain closed its doors.

"We will be making every effort to hire back the people that were there," Brubaker said.
