The Embossed-In-Register technique was developed to provide a natural, textured feel in a laminate floor surface. The actual embossing of the product, which is applied directly onto the laminate surface, coincides with the grain line and pattern alignment of the decorative wood layer. The process is achieved with direct pressure and decorative layer saturation.

According to Faus, the finished product has a three-dimensional appearance with shade and gloss variations. Faus has also succeeded in combining the Embossed-In-Register process with its Faus JointGuard technology.
