North American Technologies Group Inc. (NATK) announced it has been awarded a cash grant from Carpet America Recovery Effort ("CARE") to continue research into the use of post-consumer carpet as a raw material for its TieTek composite railroad tie. CARE is a not-for-profit industry association whose mission is developing market-based solutions for the recycling and reuse of post-consumer carpet.

CARE members include Shaw Industries, Mohawk, Solutia, BP Amoco, DuPont, and Honeywell.

NATK's subsidiary TieTek, Inc. manufactures TieTek composite railroad ties from a mixture of recycled raw materials.
