The meeting, which concluded on March 21, brought together an impressive cross-section of industry leaders representing Mohawk Industries, Cali Floors, Swiss Krono, Mannington, Shaw Industries, Classen, Kronospan, DMX Membranes Limited, Floor & Décor, Framerica, Pak-Lite (PLI), MP Global Products, SELIT North America Inc., Arauco, Versatrim LLC, Torlys Inc., Zamma, and North Carolina State University. This broad participation highlighted the industry's collaborative approach to strengthening laminate flooring's market position.
As the new NALFA president and VP of product management and innovation at Mohawk Industries, Wright will lead efforts to ensure NALFA-certified products continue setting the highest standards for quality and reliability in the market.
The association's newly formed executive team also includes Alex Brodkin of Cali Floors as VP and treasurer and Willis Devore of Swiss Krono as secretary. The leadership transition included recognition of outgoing President Barbara June for her service to the organization.
Key initiatives discussed during the meeting included expanding marketing efforts to better educate consumers and retailers about laminate flooring advantages, increasing collaboration with retailers to drive adoption of NALFA-certified products, and taking a more proactive stance in industry advocacy and sustainability standards.
Technical, Marketing, Underlayment, and Molding Committees also advanced work on industry testing methods and product standardization during the event.
NALFA's Fall Meeting is scheduled for October 14-16, 2025, in Philadelphia, where members will continue discussions on the future of the laminate flooring industry.
