Wow Design has developed an extensive new range of tiles for the new season–Wellness by Wow, specifically designed for swimming pools and wet areas. It is important to remember that swimming pools have special requirements, whether they are in homes or public spaces. Due to their constant contact with water and their open-air location, they need very careful all-round attention, and so long-lasting materials are essential for pools, both from a visual and a functional perspective.
Smooth-feeling Non-slip Tiles
Wow has developed a new non-slip treatment: a specially formulated smooth-feeling matte glaze so that the same tiles can be used both indoors and out, allowing for the creation of projects with a global, coherent design. This non-slip treatment also guarantees a safe grip in places where people go barefoot and there is a risk of slips and falls. All the terrace and poolside floors and pool coping in the photos are clad in R11/class 3 non-slip materials suitable for outdoor use, as per the relevant safety standard.
Wellness by Wow Colors
Wow Design’s new range features a wide selection of colors and finishes for pools and poolside areas. In addition to the typical soft pale blues and turquoises, it has added other more innovative options, such as earthy shades, dark greens, exotic stone or marble designs.
The Sukabumi collection, in a 11x11 m (4.3”x4.3”) format, is inspired by Indonesian volcanic stone in colors that range from snowy white to vibrant greens and dark blues.
The Marble collection, also in a 11x11cm (4.3”x4.3”) format, reproduces marble in shades of sand, green and graphite.
The Aqua collection captures the tranquillity of lakes and ponds in shades of sand, grey and green with delicate textures and subtle shades. Each color is complemented by a decor with the silhouette of leaves floating on water in different shades and intensities.
The three collections come in a selection of carefully studied shades, given that our perception of the color of a pool changes depending on the angle of the sun on the water, the time of day, and the ripples on the surface. For instance, with white colors (such as white marble effect tiles), pools seem to be a refreshing, tropical bright Caribbean blue. In contrast, pools with brown or strong earth-colored tiles take on a greenish appearance, while the pale beige typical of stone-effect tiles turns pools turquoise and neutral greys turn them dark blue.
