PureCraft by Northern Wide Plank (NWP) is a new three-layer engineered hardwood composed of 100% solid wood. It is structurally stable, environmentally sustainable, and is suitable for any interior environment, the comany said.
NWPs new PureCraft construction is based on the width of the plank, is composed of two or three wood species and thicknesses up to 20 mm (3/4 in). Depending on the product specifications, the top wear layer will be made from a single solid hardwood up to 6 mm thick. The middle layer is made from solid hardwood slats that run in the opposite direction, limiting movement while allowing the top and bottom layers to expand and contract as one. The bottom layer is designed to equalize the forces caused by moisture related changes in dimension. With only two bond lines, the layers are bonded with a high-strength elastomeric 100% VOC-free adhesive with no added formaldehyde, making it a healthy and entirely unique construction.
