The International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) association, in collaboration with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) and manufacturer technical reps, will present a one-week carpet training April 22-26, 2024, at the IUPAT facility in Henderson, Nevada.

The training will cover proper tools and equipment; hand sewing; pattern correction: bow, skew and pattern elongation; troubleshooting with stretch-in, direct glue and double stick; carpet tile backings; and millwork installation.  

Tarkett, Shaw, Mohawk, Milliken and Mannington will provide materials and technical reps for the CFI Advanced Commercial Carpet Course training. The event is spearheaded by Jerry Miller, owner, Millers Flooring Consultants. Trainers will include: Bruce Gentry, field services manager, Mohawk Industries; Paul Carrell, field technician, Shaw Industries; Doyle Slaughter, quality control and technical manager, Tarkett; Don Styka, director of field services, Tarkett; David Carter, quality assurance technical manager, Milliken; Anthony Faulknor, manager technical services, Mannington Commercial; and Scott Faulknor, owner, Southern Home Flooring Specialties in Dalton, Georgia.
