NFA Vendor Day Highlights: New Products, Initiatives to Drive 2024 Flooring Sales

Engineered Floors gave NFA members a sneak peek of its new digitally printed LVT that will be launched in early 2024. Engineered Floors has become the first manufacturer in the United States to purchase a Hymmen Jupiter Digital Printing Line. Engineered Floors has also signed a license agreement with I4F for digital printing technologies.

Mohawk's Kelly Oberschlake and Trey Thames featured PVC-free PureTech waterproof flooring, which answers consumer demand for more sustainable flooring. Thames reported that Mohawk has teamed up with Plastic Bank, an innovator in plastic recycling, to help stop more than one million pounds of plastic from entering the ocean.

The team at International Flooring Company (IFC) is ready for 2024: Greg Wrenn, Julian Dossche, William Dossche and John Tighe.

Happy Feet's Jim Curtain and Dave Snedecker offered an updated good-better-best LVT offering.

At Phenix, Jason Hair and Jimmy Tuley showcase a new mix-and-match concept that gives RSAs an easier way to coordinate patterned carpets and Mannington's hard surface offerings.

At Mannington, Al Boulogne, Jay Kopelson and Zack Zehner showcased domestic inventory such as 35 Aduramax LVT SKUs that are stocked in Calhoun, Georgia, and laminate made in High Point, North Carolina.

Randall Sheehe of Emser tile showcased a new tile display for Emser along with the Empervious shower system, which he said cuts a day off of install time and is simple for contractors at various skill levels to install.

The AHF Products team—Dave Curren, Tom Cole, Mike Bates and Richard Middaugh—shared Hearthstone engineered stone tile which features a subtle bevel and ArmorWood densified hardwood.

Karndean celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, and team members Noah Fulton, John Callahan and David Capalbo previewed 10 new colorways of resilient will be available in multiple formats (gluedown, loose lay and rigid core) to fit different installation requirements for residential/builder, multifamily and commercial.

Republic Floor CEO Rotem Eylor shared its new SHARC (Sustainable Humidity Proof Antibacterial Robust Composite) laminate flooring, which is made with 50% of the high-density fiberboard (HDF) in its core. The other 50% is green, European standards glue and organic and chemical free resins. The combination of these materials together creates a core that is virtually impenetrable to liquids for up to 180 hours, Eylor said.


Tarkett's team—Lauren Schnackenberg, Laurie Springer and Jason Baker—showcased Cloud 9 branded fiber that is softer than other polyester broadloom carpets while also offering superior performance at that same value associated with the current PET carpet market.

Provenza unveiled a new shorter merchandising display and sample boards designed for easier handling by RSAs.

Jon England, senior VP of brand at Shaw Industries, shared the new brand strategy at COREtec. As part of this strategy, the company rolled out a MAP policy on July 1, invested in software to sweep the web 24-7, and completed 7,000 secret shops to date.
