HMTX Industries is the title sponsor for the Greenbuild’s Connect + Learn Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Symposium, taking place March 4th beginning at 11 am EST. The one-day seminar, which includes three sessions and a roundtable covering multiple facets of CSR, is complimentary for industry professionals.
According to Greenbuild, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has evolved from an overall relationship between companies and shareholders to the concept of social justice - a more personal connection with employees, the communities where they operate, and ultimately, their consumers. Companies increasingly are obligated to identify their social purpose and craft policies to achieve it globally. To define and qualify what social justice means, HMTX turned to the JUST social justice label which provides a matrix for policies, evaluation, and measurement. According to Rochelle Routman, HMTX chief sustainability & quality officer, “The process of achieving the JUST label challenged and empowered us to embed social justice within our business strategy, using this global tool to gather data, judge ourselves, and improve.”
During its presentation of "How Manufacturers Can Achieve Transparency in Social Justice” March 4 at 2:45 pm – 3:30 pm EST, HMTX will explore why social justice and worker welfare are increasingly important to investors and end users and how the company's longstanding relationships with their Chinese manufacturing partners enabled them to become fully transparent in social justice metrics. Simon Xia, a manufacturing insider, will delve into the evolution of a corporate culture and the employee programs and practices that enabled the first-ever JUST label given to a Chinese facility.
