Emilceramica presents a major project, inspired by the elegance and versatility of Piasentina stone, a secondary limestone generated by gravitational processes triggered by the tectonic movements of the Earth's crust. Obtained from quarries in a small area of the Julian Pre-Alps, Piasentina stone derives its name from the people of Udine, who used to describe it in the local dialect as the stone which “la piase,” or "pleases." This Emilceramica product line is exceptionally compact, tough, and water-resistant. These properties make it suitable for any type of project or use, both indoors and outdoors.
Piase is a construction and covering collection inspired by the architecture of Italy's Friuli and Giulia regions, with coloring that varies depending on the quarry location. With an elegant grey background color, and white veins of crystallized calcite and reddish-brown mottling that give it a wonderful vibrancy. The collection is available in sizes 60x120, 90x90, 45x90, 60x60, and 30x60 cm.
Due to the special finishing, the surfaces imitate the various ways in which Piasentina stone may be worked, so that each corresponds to a different version of the stone and that no two coverings will ever be the same. The transformation process imitates the phases in which the stone is worked by the masons, from the time of quarrying until its final acquisition of new forms and meanings.
The series, achieved through complex research, is completed by the bricks, obtained from the various steps in the processing of Piasentina stone to create an infinite series of combinations of shade variations and compositions. The 12.5x25 and 6x25 cm bricks are available in a selection of finishes: Spacco, Spacco Multicolor, and Burattato.
