Havwoods International recently announced three senior C-Suite appointments to the company: Tony Lorenz, global chief marketing officer; Peter Jones, global COO; and Andrew Barnes, global CFO. The new board-level roles have been conceived to champion the global development of the brand, spearheading the company as it enters its next phase of international expansion. Bringing with them a wealth of expertise and knowledge from previous strategic, financial and brand consultancy roles, Lorenz, Jones and Barnes will be responsible for the implementation of Havwoods’ global positioning, with a focus on the brand marketing, budget strategy and logistical objectives of the UK-based wood flooring business.
Lorenz has 25 years agency and client-side experience in the creation, management and implementation of brands, working for organisations and a host of diverse clients, across Asia, Europe, Middle East and North America. In his new role, Lorenz aims to create and implement a global brand strategy with a unifying purpose and culture, transforming the business to become a global force in flooring design.
“I’m very privileged to be joining the Havwoods at such an exciting phase in its development,” said Lorenz. “It has amazing people, products and potential and now is the perfect moment to build a truly global brand.”
Barnes transferred to Havwoods from the brand’s external accountancy firm, RSM where he spent 17 years working for the global practice, 7 of which were spent as lead partner providing advisory services to Havwoods. His role will be responsible for global sales strategy and setting and implementing the objectives for company growth and overseas expansion.
“I am delighted to join the Havwoods journey,” said Barnes. “Over the last few years I have been fortunate to work with the company in an advisory capacity during which time it’s become one of the fastest growing family businesses in Lancashire. As a born and bred Lancastrian, it is incredibly exciting to be involved in a local business that is making a significant impact globally and has ambitions to create an internationally known brand in the hardwood floor market.”
After ten years in the British Army, with active service in Iraq, Afghanistan and Northern Ireland, Jones received his MBA from INSEAD business school in France. He has spent the last seven years in senior management roles at Morgan Stanley, Amazon, and Travis Perkins. In his new role, Jones will ensure Havwoods continues to deliver its excellent products and service globally.
“I am delighted to join such a fantastic company at this exciting stage of international expansion,” said Jones. “With the strong foundations of the excellent team we will be able to build an innovative brand offering exquisite hardwood flooring tailored to our customers’ needs wherever they are in the world.”
