Preparations for Domotex 2017, taking place Jan. 14 to 17 in Hannover, Germany, are already in full swing.
According to organizers, demand for display space is looking decidedly strong.
“Providers from all around the world will exhibit at Domotex in order to leverage the show’s strong international profile and get their 2017 business year off to a promising start,” said Jochen Köckler, Deutsche Messe managing board. “Domotex will once again be true to form as the global innovation driver and flagship event of the carpets and floor coverings industry.”
Köckler noted that around 85% of the show’s available exhibition space had already been booked.
“At this early stage it’s already looking likely that we’ll have more exhibitors and more leased exhibition space than in 2015—the most recent comparable staging of Domotex,” added Köckler. “This growth is driven by registrations by new exhibitors and by returning exhibitors increasing the size of their presentations. The upswing is particularly notable in the luxury vinyl tiles and machine-made carpets sections of the show.”
Visitors at Domotex will see an extensive array of new materials, colors and designs as they explore the rich and varied lifestyle options and modern interior design possibilities presented by the new rugs, textile and resilient floor coverings and parquet, wood and laminate products on display.
“Whatever product innovations and collections will be sweeping the market in the coming season, visitors will see them first at Domotex,” said Köckler. “This will be impressively evident in all 12 exhibition halls.”
The most creative product innovations and design highlights will be on display at the next edition of the popular Innovations@Domotex showcase. Innovations@Domotex is a unique format that enables exhibitors to give their brand and their latest products added exposure at the fair. It includes special display areas where expertly selected innovations are artistically and prominently staged, providing visitors with a valuable guide to the many innovations on display throughout the show.
The format also includes the Innovations@Domotex Dialogues—a series of talks, presentations and discussion panels on important industry and flooring fashion themes by celebrated international designers. Innovations@Domotex also features application-specific tours which directly explore the themes covered in the Dialogues with reference to the displays of selected exhibitors. The tours are an excellent source of inspiration, especially for architects and interior designers and planners.
Domotex will place more emphasis on cutting-edge flooring industry trends than ever before next year, the show will have a new speaking stage where young international designers will be able to unveil their ideas and creations for the floorscapes of tomorrow. Preparations will start this summer with a special workshop headed by Munich-based industrial designer and Innovations@Domotex jury chairman, Stefan Diez. The workshop is aimed at the young talents who will be using Domotex to show the flooring industry the shape of things to come.
